NYC Again - 1

Oh boy, was not it hard to wake up after 4am when I had 1.5hrs sleep, but I was so excited to go that amount of sleep I got did not matter :)

I was not surprised that weather did not promise anything good since in January it was sleet, snow, rain and cold too. Why this time it would be different? :) Approaching NYC I saw how grey everything looked but hey, it was NYC! Who cares! :)

I had a quick breakfast, thanks to million different places to chose from and headed to Empire State Building. I planned this visit and got tickets beforehand. I was glad I came so early, looking at the possible rows of people who would have have to wait, but I did not. It was still early enough. Security was quite serious and staff, every single one of them, were very courteous. I loved customer service!

First, on the 80th floor you go through the whole history in making. Like the place of work for the day, number of people employed.. Many photos. Crazy how people in pictures did not wear hard hats, but suits. Or how high they were. I would have fallen the first day! :)

102-story building (1,250 feet - 381m) which was built in 1 year and 45 days with most people working in one day - 3,439. I can not imagine how hard it is to keep track of such a huge project!

ESB was featured in many movies, the most popular one King Kong, Independence Day and even Tom and Jerry!
It was sort of on and off raining, so I stayed inside, just looking around for a while. This 86th observaroty offers panoramic view in 80 miles direction on a clear day.
West side. One Penn Plaza is right in the middle.
 West side close
South side (this one obviously not mine) Manhattan Financial District
South side (with Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island far) Flatiron Building right in the middle (corner building)
South side - I am caged!!!
East side (this pic is not mine again)

My all time fav side was North (this panorama is not mine)
North side with American Radiator building on the right from green Metlife building
Here you can see it better
North side - This is my fav picture of all sides Trianggle building with shiny roof is Citigroup Center. Trump World Tower is black building on the right from Chrysler building
Same but closer. Can see the bridge and the pipes better. Queensborough bridge, which connects Queens and Manhattan.
80th floor inside - North side
I loved looking at the roofs of the buildings. Looks like some people really know how to use tight space and enjoy their time at lunch :)
 Love all the green!
Love how they did it - this sign at the middle building says For Renting and they even have beach chairs and I guess they think people (tourists) who visits EST would rent for sure :)
Flatiron Building at Broadway and 42st at the South side
So cool! I loved going around and around and every time I managed to see new things I did not notice before. Would be back anytime!
