So, we got up pretty early - 7.15am on Saturday morning and headed to the track. Kyra wanted to do what Brandon would be doing, so I signed them up for:
- 50 meter dash
- Running jump
- 200 meter dash.
They wanted to do relay but kids practiced for it when Brandon and Kyra were sick, so they had to skip that one. I honestly can say Brandon did his best, Kyra was just doing. At least that was it seemed like. Both of them, still, had fun though.
Kyra was afraid of the gun shot, it was very loud.

50 meter dash, Brandon is in purple
Running long jump
200 meter dash. Kyra's coach is cheering on her
200 meter dash. Brandon was 3rd here but right at the finish line, he speeded up and got 2nd.
When races were all over, we went to the table with results to see if any of them won in any race. Brandon won 2nd place in 200 meter dash. If I remember correctly, there were at least 10 boys, may be more running this event.Kyra did not win anything and when she realized it, she did a huge disappointment cry, not more that she did not, but that Brandon did and she did not. I felt bad for her, but it is very important lesson to learn in life. There will be many, many circumstances when they will not be the strongest, smartest, best, fastest. It is ok. It is a part of life. Having fun and doing your best - it is all you can do in this case! :)
